Pin A creamy, tangy dip featuring the sweet richness of honey butter and the crunch of fried pickles, perfect for parties or snacking with chips and veggies.
I first brought this Honey Butter Fried Pickle Dip to a game night, and it disappeared in minutes. Friends were wowed by the crispy pickles and creamy base. It is now my go-to dip for potlucks and casual get-togethers.
Ingredients
- Creamy Base: 230 g (8 oz) cream cheese, softened, 120 g (1/2 cup) sour cream, 60 g (1/4 cup) mayonnaise, 1 tbsp honey
- Fried Pickles: 120 g (1 cup) dill pickles, finely chopped, 60 g (1/2 cup) panko breadcrumbs, 2 tbsp all-purpose flour, 1 large egg, 2 tbsp milk, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp paprika, Vegetable oil for frying
- Mix-ins & Garnish: 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted, 2 tbsp fresh chives, chopped (plus more for garnish), Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Pickles:
- Pat the chopped pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Bread Pickles:
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, and paprika. In a separate bowl, whisk egg and milk. In a third bowl, place panko breadcrumbs. Dredge pickles in flour mixture, dip in egg wash, then coat with panko.
- Fry Pickles:
- Heat 1 cm oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry breaded pickles in batches until golden and crispy, about 1–2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Mix the Dip:
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and honey until smooth. Mix in melted butter and most of the chives (reserve some for garnish).
- Combine and Finish:
- Fold in fried pickles, reserving a few for topping. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer dip to a serving bowl and garnish with reserved fried pickles and chives. Serve with potato chips, pretzels, or vegetable sticks.
Pin Making this with my younger cousins always means extra fried pickles for sneaking before the dip is finished. It is a recipe the whole family gathers around and enjoys together.
