Tortilla Pizza Wrap (Print)

Handheld tortillas layered with sauce, cheese, and toppings, cooked to a golden crisp for a tasty fusion.

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 2 large flour tortillas (10-inch)

→ Sauce

02 - 4 tablespoons pizza sauce or marinara sauce

→ Cheese

03 - 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

→ Toppings

04 - 8 to 10 slices pepperoni (optional)
05 - ¼ cup sliced black olives
06 - ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
07 - ¼ cup diced bell peppers
08 - 2 tablespoons chopped red onion
09 - 1 tablespoon fresh basil leaves (optional)

→ For Cooking

10 - 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter

# Directions:

01 - Place one tortilla flat on a cutting board and cut from the center to the edge to create a single radius cut.
02 - Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over the tortilla surface, leaving a small border around the edge.
03 - Distribute ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauced tortilla.
04 - Place desired toppings on each quarter section of the tortilla, such as pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and basil leaves.
05 - Starting at the cut, fold each quarter over the next to form a layered, triangular wrap; repeat the process with the second tortilla.
06 - Warm olive oil or butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
07 - Place wraps seam-side down in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently until golden brown and cheese is melted.
08 - Remove wraps from skillet, let cool slightly, cut in half if desired, and serve warm.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • It's faster than ordering delivery and somehow tastes even better when you make it yourself.
  • You get to be your own pizza architect, choosing exactly what goes in each folded section.
  • The crispy outside gives way to melty cheese in a way that makes this feel way fancier than 18 minutes of work deserves.
02 -
  • Don't skimp on the oil or you'll end up with a wrap that's pale and slightly chewy instead of that satisfying crispy-outside texture.
  • The fold is messier than you think it should be, and that's when you know it's going to have the most cheese pockets—perfection looks chaotic.
03 -
  • Brush the outside of the fold lightly with olive oil before cooking if you're after that extra-crispy, almost-fried texture.
  • Use a nonstick skillet if you have one—it takes the stress out of the flip and means you can use less oil overall.
